L.S. Lowry (1887-1976) “The Football Match” - 1949
Reminds me of the original willy wonka film/gives me flashbacks to learning about smoky industrial Britain in school- and also its a cool reminder how early football matches started out. Whats more, L S Lowry- apart from being extremely famous is from Manchester and many of his pictures are depictions of life in Salford which is pretty cool. Some of his work is on permanent exhibition at Salford Quays if you wanted to check it out :)
